(Port) Wine of the month June 2021: QUINTA NOVA MIRABILIS WHITE 2012

I was very lucky to participate in an online tasting with all the Mirabilis wines from prestigious Quinta Nova. The full enologist team with Portuguese journalist Joao Paulo Martins were present and able to answer any possible question. For whatever reason these wines are rarely known outside Portugal and the red Mirabilis already reached the upper pricing category. The white Mirabilis, which was produced since 2011, is a fantastic wine and the second edition from 2012 was my star of the tasting: Green reflections in the golden colour. Balanced yellow fruit with peach, grapefruit and quince, smoky flavours in the back. Perfectly integrated acidity and a balanced yellow fruit basket on the palate. Still with noticeable barrique, this wine has a very long aftertaste and will improve a lot with food. 18/20
